May 15 Speaker Series — Wildflower Folklore

Please join the Blairstown Rotary Club for their May 15 speaker series gathering.

🎤 Jennifer Correa-Kruegel, the Warren County Park Naturalist, will speak about Wildflower Folklore. 🌾 Many wildflowers have more to them than meets the eye! Come and learn stories, medicinal values, and more of some common wildflowers seen in our area!

50/50 Raffle 2025 Results

We had another successful 50/50 and raised over $25,000 that will all go to our scholarship program and other community services.

THANK YOU to all who purchased tickets and contributed door prizes, and to all the volunteers who made it possible.

A special thank you to the NWRHS Interact Club for their hard work at the drawing and dinner event, and to the Blairstown Hose Company for allowing us to use the firehall and for their help at the event. We could not have done it without you.

Spring Blood Drive Thank You

THANK YOU!

The Blairstown Rotary Spring Blood Drive held on Saturday, April 19 at the Lions Den was a success. The generous people of the northern Warren County area donated 65 units of blood that will help save lives!

A special thank you to all the Rotary and Interact volunteers who helped support the drive, and the Lion's Club for the use of their facility. We would also like to thank Blairstown Ace Hardware for the donation of Ace gift cards for our donors!

We will see you in the fall. Watch this page for the date of our next drive.

NWRHS Scholarship Program 2025

NWRHS Scholarship Award Program - 2025

We are pleased to announce that thanks to the community support of our fundraising efforts, The Rotary Club of Blairstown will provide the following scholarship awards to NWRHS graduating seniors who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service above Self” through their volunteer activities and actions. Examples include, but are not limited to, participation in a service club like Interact or Key Club, participating in organized mission trips, volunteering to help others, volunteering through community organizations like the YMCA, Special Olympics, United Way, food bank, scouting, church group, peer mentor programs or tutoring.

Rotary Club of Blairstown Jack Sweet Memorial Scholarship – One award of $3,000

In honor of Jack Sweet, a Rotarian, teacher, coach and principal at Blairstown High School and NWRHS, this scholarship is awarded to a senior with excellence in character and scholarship who demonstrates the Rotary motto of Service above Self through their activities and actions.

Rotary Club of Blairstown William Caldwell Memorial Scholarship – One award of $3,000

In honor of William Caldwell, a Rotarian and former superintendent of NWRHS, this scholarship seeks to honor his legacy by supporting a deserving student who shares his dedication to character, scholarship, and selfless service and is awarded to a senior with excellence in character and scholarship who demonstrates the Rotary motto of Service above Self.

Rotary Club of Blairstown Interact Service Scholarship – Three awards of $1,000 each

Awarded to a senior member of the NWR Interact Club with excellence in character and scholarship who demonstrates the Rotary motto of Service above Self.

Rotary Club of Blairstown Service Above Self Scholarship – Two awards of $1,000

Awarded to a senior with excellence in character and scholarship who demonstrates the Rotary motto of Service above Self.

Community Center Project Update

Community Center Project Update

The Blairstown Rotary 75^th Anniversary Project to update the Givens-Belet Memorial Hall on Hope Road is making significant progress.

The old ramp has been removed and replaced by a mobility lift. New stairs and entry way have been installed. Repairs have been made to the roof and framing. The building has been insulated. New siding has been installed and gutters will be installed shortly. The new entry walk and wheelchair path to the ramp have been installed. Landscaping and a handicapped parking area will be completed in the near future. Thanks to Paul Klein Construction and Casey Masonry for their expertise and professional work. In addition to over $60,000 being invested by Rotary, we have received support from Siddhachlalam, Blair Academy, Blue Ridge Lumber, Agens Stone, H&S Enterprises, Newbaker Funeral Home, Ray O'Brien Architects, Blairstown Township, The Rotary Foundation and additional individual contributors. In total, over $100,000 has been invested in this project.

The outside work is nearing conclusion. The retaining walls have been installed, the foundation painted and the planting area mulched. Thanks to the Blairstown DPW for building the walls, and to the volunteer students from Blair Academy, who painted the foundation and spread the mulch. Blair also provided the mulch and paint.

Community Center Entryway Memorial Brick Space

A memorial brick space is being installed in the Community Center front entry area. The bricks are laser engraved and are very durable. Your brick will become part the center for many years. The brick space will be located between the entry walk and wheelchair path, directly in front of the building. It will be easily visible to all who are using the Center.

The area to the right of the main walkway and stairs is the location of the Memorial Brick Space.

Rotary Is Changing

We are making it easier to fit Rotary into today's busy schedule and are focusing more on special projects, so you can be involved as your time allows.

The main requirement to join Rotary is the desire to get involved and make a difference in our community. We know that today’s work and family schedule take its toll on volunteer time, so we are working hard to make Rotary accessible to all who want to join and contribute.

Our club has a 73-year history in our community, and we are very sound financially. While we work locally, we are a proud part of Rotary International, a network of more than 1.2 million members.

We have access to the resources of this worldwide organization, which makes it possible for us to accomplish things beyond our local means.

Our Meetings

If you can spare an hour a month, you have the time to attend our monthly business meeting. Many of our members also enjoy attending our weekly dinner meetings, but these are not a requirement for membership.

Our Projects

We hold and participate in many projects throughout the year. What we can accomplish is only limited by the time, enthusiasm and skills of our members.

We are confident that we can find projects that match your time, skills and abilities. Or maybe you have some ideas of your own, but you need people and resources to help carry them out. That’s what Rotary is all about.
