On August 14th the Blairstown Rotary Club, which was chartered in 1947, took on their biggest undertaking ever. They are building a 1300 Sq. ft. Service Building at Sycamore Park, Lambert Road, Blairstown. The building, which is being dedicated to two of it's longest running members Fred Buehler and Marty Semken, will include a concession stand, rest rooms and an extended roof for an eating area.

According to Blairstown Rotary's President, John H. Maxman "we have received donations-in-kind for materials, architectural and engineering planning along with many hours of donated time". The building is scheduled for completion in February 2005, the date of the beginning of Rotary, and will be the sight of a small dedication. Another dedication will take place at the beginning of the 2005 sports season. This will be the official dedication to honor and thank all the individuals, companies and contractors that will have been responsible for the Centennial Project. At that time it will be turned over to Pat Sagan, the Head of Recreation Committee.

"We are proud of our service to the community and we are equally as proud of the community for all their support" said Maxman "not only this project but all the projects we've been involved in for the last 57 years."
